About Me

I’m a mom of two, a teenage daughter and a 10-year-old so, and married to my high school sweetheart. A few years ago, we made the decision to leave city life behind and move to upstate New York in search of something slower, calmer, and more intentional.

We found that in our little home, surrounded by a garden we love and a house that is still very much a work in progress.

A Home That’s Always Becoming

Nothing in our home is “finished,” and honestly, that’s part of what we love most about it.

Over the past three years, we’ve taken on projects we never imagined we’d be capable of, learning as we go and figuring things out one step at a time.

We’ve turned one awkward bedroom into two by building a wall from scratch.
We’ve laid a brick floor and built retaining walls to make our outdoor space more functional.
We’re constantly updating, adjusting, and creating a home that truly works for our family.

Not because we’re experts, but because we’re willing to try.

Learning, Building, Creating

I’ve always been creative, but living here has pushed me to become something more – a builder, a problem-solver, and someone who creates what we need instead of waiting to find it.

Some of my favorite projects are the ones that come from real life: like the long bench I built for our mudroom after coming in from a day of skiing, when we realized we needed a place to land.

Other times, creativity looks quieter, like making essential oil holders from branches I’ve found in the yard.

What I Create

Lately, I’ve been focused on minimalist drawings, designed as ready-to-hang canvas pieces – simple, intentional designs that reflect the kind of home I’m building and the spaces I want to live in.

They’re the kind of pieces I’d fill my own walls with… if I had more wall space.

Real Life, Real Work

Alongside all of this, I work remotely in advertising – balancing creativity, family life, and the everyday realities of a full schedule.

This space is where all of those parts come together.

Why I Share

I’m not here because I have everything figured out.

I’m here because I don’t and I’ve learned that you don’t have to.

This site is a place to share:

  • the projects we take on
  • the things we learn along the way
  • and the small, creative solutions that make a home feel like your own

If you’ve ever wanted to be more hands-on, more creative, or more intentional in your everyday life, you’re in the right place.
